about me

"I believe that learning music should be an enjoyable and enriching experience."

Welcome to Laura Garcia Piano! I’m Laura, and I’ve been teaching piano for 14 years. Music has been a lifelong passion of mine, and I love sharing that passion with my students. I believe that learning music should be an enjoyable and enriching experience. After all, if it isn’t fun, it’s not worth doing!

I grew up in a musical family and have been surrounded in music for as long as I can remember. I studied music in college and earned my bachelor’s degree in English literature, which has given me a unique perspective on both the artistry and structure of musical expression. My musical journey has taken me through various roles, from performing country western music on stage to serving as a pianist, flutist, and cantor in church music ministry.

As a piano teacher, I work with students of all ages, from young beginners as young as six to adults looking to develop their skills. My teaching approach focuses on a strong foundation in music theory, proper technique, and an engaging repertoire tailored to each student’s interests and goals. More importantly, I strive to cultivate a love for music in my students, fostering their creativity and confidence at the piano.

Teaching, to me, is a compassionate art form. I take the time to listen to my students, understand their learning styles, and adapt lessons accordingly to ensure their growth and enjoyment. Whether you’re looking to start from scratch, refine your skills, or simply explore the joy of playing, I’d love to help you on your musical journey.

Let’s make music together!

"Our daughter has been taking lessons with Laura for a little over a year now. She's a fantastic teacher who works so patiently with her students to encourage them and help them grow in their skills."
