Piano Teaching Method
The following elements are essential to learning piano and will be incorporated into lessons regularly:
Theory – Understanding how music is written and how to read it, including:
Scale and chord structure
Piano accompaniment
Technique – Developing strong foundational skills through:
Finger strengthening exercises
Proper fingering
Dynamics and rhythm
Repertoire – Learning a variety of pieces, including:
Lesson book songs
Recital pieces
Special songs from genres that interest you
Music Composition (optional) – Exploring creativity through composing, if desired by the student.

Piano Lesson Options
In-Studio Lessons – One-on-one lessons with Laura, providing individualized attention and hands-on learning in a dedicated studio environment.
Virtual Lessons – One-on-one lessons conducted remotely via Google Meet or FaceTime, offering a convenient distance-learning option tailored to the student’s preferred platform.
Hybrid Lessons – A combination of in-studio and virtual lessons, providing the flexibility to balance hands-on learning with the convenience of remote sessions, ensuring consistent progress without the need to commute every week.

Student Requirements & Policies
Instrument – Students need a piano or keyboard at home. An 88-key keyboard with weighted keys and a pedal option is ideal, but a smaller keyboard is acceptable for beginners.
Practice Commitment – Regular practice is essential, preferably 5-7 days a week.
Lesson Rates:
$30 per half-hour
$40 per 45 minutes
$45 per hour
Sibling rate available – Please inquire in person.
Cancellation Policy – Lessons must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged.
